Student Testimonials

Alec (Age 46) – 2nd Degree Black Belt

You have the opportunity to train 3 nights of the week. The classes are fun and enjoyable for everyone and a great way to improve your fitness and flexibility. The class students abilities range from complete beginners through to 2nd degree black belts. There is a great teaching and learning ethos with higher grades always keen to help and support the lower grades.

I have been a member of the Chesworth Taekwondo club for the past 7 years along with both of my sons who started around the age of 7. Taekwondo has been great for both of them, building their confidence and promoting its values of integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit. My eldest son now trains with the Scottish Taekwondo national team and my youngest is hoping to follow in his big brothers footsteps. For me my days of competing are long past, I enjoy the fitness aspect of the training but most of all I enjoy participating with my children, watching them improve over the years and now to see them exceeding my abilities has been a great journey and an experience I would recommend to any parent. So fed up training alone in the gym, sitting in front of the TV or playing too much PS3/XBox then why not try Taekwondo and unleash your potential.

Aaron (Age 15) – 2nd Degree Black Belt

I started Taekwondo when I was around 7 years old and have been training for 8 years now.  During this time I have made many new friends, learned new skills and became a much more confident young adult. Taekwondo is great if you want to increase your level of fitness, flexibility and self defence. Over the past 2 years I have competed in many competitions both locally and nationally. I am now part of the Scotland squad team and hope that I can represent my country some time in the future 🙂

Aiden (Age 14) – 1st Degree Black Belt

I was diagnosed with diabetes about 6 and a half years ago and because of this I began to look for an activity I could join. I started Taekwondo shortly after being diagnosed and have now been with the club for 6 years. This club has given me confidence and enjoyment as well as having a positive impact on my health. Over these years i have gained new friends and I enjoy training and learning new techniques. The instructor, Andy Chesworth, is a very good teacher and makes training fun. I am the person I am today thanks to Chesworth Taekwondo. If you are looking for a sport that is fun, challenging and has great health benefits I strongly recommend joining Chesworth Taekwondo.

Sam (Age 9) – Red Belt

I started training at the club when I was only 6, 3 years later I am now a red belt. I enjoy going to the club because I have made many friends and I really enjoy the training and staying fit. Mr Chesworth is a great instructor who makes every class hard but fun.  Over the past year I have competed in 4 different competitions and have earned 7 medals so far.  I hope to get my black belt some day soon and perhaps be as good as my big brother.

Lucy (Age 10) – Red Tags

I have been going to class for two and half years . At the moment I am red tag working towards my red belt.
The club is absolutely brilliant. It keeps me fit, keeps me focused, I learn new techniques on self defence and it gives me confidence in myself.
I enjoy the fitness and pattern's but I really enjoy the sparring and competition's.
The people who attend class are great, they made me feel so welcome when I first joined and to this day still do.
We work hard together and have fun also.
